Uppercase Mag has been one of my favorites since it first launched in 2009. True story…there were a few subscriptions left for the inaugural issue and it was the last day to purchase. I was set to have surgery that same day. It was a few minutes before they wheeled me into the operating room when I remembered I needed to subscribe. I told my husband I quickly needed my iphone. I wrote a short yet impassioned email to the editor, Janine, to hold one of the subscriptions for me. She did. And that…was the beginning of a beautiful love affair with Uppercase.

New Holiday Greeting Cards

For 2010, we are introducing our new line of Calligraphic Holiday Cards. With messages like “Joy to the World”, “Peace on Earth” and “Deck the Halls”, these cards will be sure to inspire during the holiday season. The cards will be sold as a set of 3 with a corresponding teal envelope.

SFCB Roadworks Steamroller Street Fair 2010

While we were in San Francisco last month, we had the opportunity to visit SFCB’s 7th Annual Roadworks Steamroller Street Fair. The Roadworks Festival is one of our favorites because of the awesome printing and book arts community in San Francisco. They really know how to throw a party. Plus there were a ton of cool vendors who had dog biscuits at their booths. Grizzly made a lot of friends that day.

You know what happens when you stand in a line for half an hour and the girl next to you out of the blue says that she knew you in high school, and you don’t realize who she is immediately because in high school she had pink hair and in hindsight you think that she is so uber-cool for living outside of the box back then and on top of that high school was like 15 light years ago?

You end up with a french bulldog named Grizzly.

happenstance: an unexpected random event.
If it wasn’t for happenstance, there wouldn’t be a dog on my floor making raspberry noises in his sleep.

Shepard Fairey in San Diego

Street artist Shepard Fairey was in San Diego creating murals for the “Viva La Revolucion” showing at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. We couldn’t miss seeing the artist in action. So we hightailed it to South Park to see him work.

Some of the mural from the Hillcrest location he had completed earlier in the week…
